Emma Wilson is an Assistant Headteacher at Caerleon Comprehensive School in Newport. She has extensive experience across all aspects of senior leadership in secondary education, having served as Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in four contrasting schools across South Wales.

Emma is deeply passionate about supporting disadvantaged young people and learners with additional learning needs, and her work consistently reflects a strong commitment to equity and inclusion. She holds a Master’s degree in Education Management and Leadership and has achieved the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

In addition to her school-based leadership roles, Emma has worked as a Professional Adviser to the Welsh Government’s Education Department and has represented colleagues nationally as a union representative, giving her valuable insight into education policy and system-level leadership.

Leanne is Headteacher at The Maelor School in North Wales. Leanne was  previously Deputy Headteacher at Elfed High School and has also worked across a multi-academy trust, leading on professional learning. Leanne is passionate about supporting teachers and leaders to continually develop their pedagogy and leadership skills; she has coached and mentored numerous colleagues across a range of settings. Leanne believes strongly in developing strong collaborative links with all stakeholders.  She leads a number of collaborative groups, including work with feeder primaries leaders and senior leaders across Flintshire.  Leanne believes in leading by example; she is in her nineteenth year of teaching English and has previously worked as an examiner in the subject.

Stacey is currently Assistant Headteacher at Victoria CP School in Wrexham. As AHT, she has responsibility for Assessment & Progress as well as Languages, Literacy & Communication. With more than 15 years experience in Key Stage 2 she is currently teaching Year 6 and has a passion for reading, art and creativity.

Nia Wyn Jones is a Deputy Headteacher at Ysgol Maes Garmon, a Welsh-medium secondary school in Flintshire, North Wales. Prior to joining the school as Head of Music, she taught in Swansea, Bala, Wrexham and Denbigh. She is passionate about pedagogy, and enjoys mentoring NQTs and associate teachers through CaBan, having previously tutored trainee music teachers at Bangor University. She has been a Music examiner and moderator for the WJEC, and has conducted several choirs, including Only Boys Aloud in North Wales.

Chris Shaw is an experienced Head of English and Assistant headteacher at a Welsh-medium comprehensive school in Swansea. He is a senior examiner for A level English Literature. More recently, Chris has also been appointed as a research lead within the school where he has focused on initiatives to improve the development of oracy skills and supporting learner progress. He has completed an MSt in Advanced Subject Teaching (University of Cambridge), which included focusing on the teaching of Shakespeare, and the concept of Welsh Writing in English. Darren is our strategic PR consultant, who leads on all aspects of public relations, media relations, communications and marketing, including producing our podcast. He has worked in PR for more than ten years in a variety of in-house and agency roles. Before his PR career, Darren was a journalist for 13 years, including seven as chief reporter at TES Cymru, during which time he reported on education across Wales and beyond. His work at TES was twice shortlisted for prestigious education journalism awards, and he was a regular commentator on educational issues on TV and radio. Outside work, Darren is a community governor at a primary school in Cardiff.

Lisa is an Assistant Headteacher, who joined Cwmbran High School in September 2023. Prior to this, she was Area Lead of Mathematics, Numeracy and Business Studies for 1 year and Subject Team Leader of Mathematics for the previous 9 years at Newport High School. Her senior leadership portfolio is extensive and includes; improving attendance, staff wellbeing and community engagement. Additionally, leading middle leaders to raise standards through departmental reviews, self-evaluation and improvement planning. Furthermore, implementing and evaluating the CfW vision at Cwmbran High School.
